Replacing headlights on a Toyota pickup is a basic task that really improves your night vision and driving. It can also reduce the chance of getting into an accident after dusk. For best results, replace your headlights in your Toyota every year or so. To do this, you need to find a pair of matching headlight bulbs.

Moderately Easy

Instructions

things you'll need:

  • Bulbs
  • Screwdriver
    • 1

Purchase a pair of headlights to install. These should match the parts number on your old existing headlamps. So, if you don't know what this number is, you will have to remove the old ones first to find that number.

    • 2

Open your Toyota's hood, and prop it open with the stand. Disconnect your battery.

    • 3

Locate the back of the headlight. You can simply reach around the back of the housing for each of the Toyota headlights until you feel the wires that run into the headlamp bulbs.

    • 4

Using a screwdriver, loosen the three screws that hold the headlight bulb and connector inside the housing. Once these are loosened, the connector and light can be turned and removed.

    • 5

Remove the bulb from the connector by depressing the clip and sliding the bulb out.

    • 6

Insert the new bulb into the connector, then reinstall the connector in the housing. Tighten the screws and then test by reconnecting your battery and turning on the headlights.
